  • What is Biblical Counseling?

Biblical counseling is a form of counseling that integrates the truth of Scripture with practical, therapeutic techniques. It focuses on addressing life’s challenges through a biblical worldview, helping individuals align their thoughts, actions, and emotions with God's Word to find healing, growth, and peace.

  • How is Biblical Counseling different from other types of counseling?

While other counseling approaches may focus solely on psychological techniques, Biblical counseling prioritizes the teachings of the Bible and sees Scripture as the ultimate guide for addressing life's issues. It encourages spiritual growth, repentance, and transformation through the power of God's Word, prayer, and Christ-centered principles.

  • Who can benefit from Biblical Counseling?

Biblical counseling can benefit anyone who is facing personal struggles, emotional distress, or relational issues and desires a counseling approach rooted in Scripture. It is especially helpful for Christians seeking to align their lives more closely with Biblical truths, but individuals of any faith background may benefit from the compassionate, faith-based support offered.

  • Do you accept insurance?

After December 31st, 2024 I will no longer accept insurance from all clients. However, many clients choose to pay out-of-pocket for counseling services. If you have a Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA), you may be able to use those funds for counseling sessions.

If you wish to submit a claim to your insurance provider for reimbursement, I can provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance company, though I cannot guarantee reimbursement.

  • Do you work with minors?

While I specialize in working with adults and seniors, I do work with minors as well. If you are looking for counseling for a child, please reach out to me to discuss whether working with me may be a good fit.

  • Do I have to be a Christian to receive Biblical Counseling?

While Biblical counseling is rooted in Christian teachings, you do not have to be a Christian to receive counseling. However, it is important to understand that the guidance offered will be from a Christian perspective, using Biblical truths and principles. If you are open to exploring faith and spiritual aspects of healing, you may find the process valuable.

  • Will my personal information remain confidential?

Yes, confidentiality is a priority in Biblical counseling. All personal information shared during sessions is kept confidential, following strict ethical guidelines. Your counselor will respect your privacy, and no information will be shared unless required by law or if there is a risk of harm to yourself or others.

  • How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions needed depends on the specific issues you are facing and your progress in counseling. Some individuals may only need a few sessions, while others may benefit from longer-term support. Your counselor will help determine a plan that best fits your needs and goals.

  • Do you offer online counseling or telehealth sessions?

Yes, we offer online counseling via secure video platforms for your convenience. Online sessions are available for individuals, couples, and families, providing flexible options if you're unable to attend in person.
