Hi, I'm Jim Shafer. I'm a conditionally Licensed Pastoral Counselor (LPC-C) in the state of Maine, under the supervision of Erin Latulippe, LCSW. I have been providing formal and informal pastoral care in various settings for over 15 years, including the local church and the United States Navy.
I have over 18 years of service with the United States Navy. I have worked as a Submariner, Navy Diver, and now as a Navy Chaplain assigned as the Battalion Chaplain of a United States Marine Corps Reserve Infantry Battalion. I volunteer as a Chaplain for both the Kennebunk, ME Police Department and Pine Tree Search and Rescue. I am an ordained minister holding credentials with the Conservative Congregational Christian Conference (CCCC).
I live in southern York County, Maine, with my wife and two daughters. When I am not working or studying I enjoy going on outdoor adventures with my oldest daughter, working out, and occasionally getting in some surfing or golfing.
As a Biblical Counselor I listen for the emotions and thought patterns behind your words and stories and help you recognize the heart issues those stem from. Together we walk through the whole counsel of Scripture to help you return to a life of wholeness, joy, and peace.
Working with me you'll find both safety and time. I am here to walk with you on your journey at whatever pace that may be, and however rocky the road is.
My office provides a very private and warm space located right in the heart of Wells, Maine. If you desire we can also meet via telehealth.
